pBOONVILLE — The leaders of the Adirondack Central School Class of 2019 are Alexander Jackson, valedictorian; and Vanessa Slone, salutatorian./ppMr. Jackson, son of Donald and Rebecca Jackson, Boonville, has an academic average of 96.08 and will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors, distinction in math and science. He completed several honors, Advanced Placement and dual-credit courses./ppHe is a member of Skills USA; National Honor Society, serving as meeting organizer; math honor society, serving as treasurer; and Quiz Bowl, serving as vice-president./ppMr. Jackson will major in mechanical engineering at Clarkson University, Potsdam./ppMiss Slone, daughter of Brandy Golden, Boonville, and Jamie Slone, Boonville, has an academic average of 95.61 and will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors, mastery in science. She has completed several honors and Advanced Placement courses./ppIn addition to academics, she is a member of Quiz Bowl, formerly serving as president; Skills USA; yearbook committee; student association; National Honor Society; and concert choir and performs in the school musical. /ppThis year, the Quiz Bowl team took eighth place in the “Whiz Quiz” Competition, allowing them to compete in the top state tournament where they qualified for nationals.
