High school roundup: South Lewis upends Carthage in FL volleyball

TURIN — Izzabelle Liendecker delivered eight kills, 12 service points and 21 digs to pace the South Lewis volleyball team to a 20-25, 25-22, 25-14 and 25-21 nonleague victory over Carthage on Thursday night.

Brooklyn Sullivan added 28 assists, 19 digs and 15 points, and Brooke Everson contributed 17 kills, 18 digs and nine points for the Falcons (7-3).

MiKenzie Martens totaled 20 assists for the Comets (9-1), Bekka Fifield finished with 10 kills and three blocks, and Julia Fox contributed seven kills and 15 digs.

South Jefferson 3, Lowville 2

In a Frontier League “B” Division match, the Spartans prevailed over the Red Raiders (4-5) in five sets.

Lowville was led by Brianna Finn’s 18 kills and 17 digs, Ashton Houppert’s 32 assists and 10 kills, and Maryam Kirch’s 30 digs and nine kills.

The Beavers swept Holland Patent in a nonleague match 25-14, 25-9, 25-13, in Holland Patent.

Chelsea Greenwood finished with 10 kills, Makenna Boliver had eight kills, and Natalie Monnat had 16 assists for Beaver River (7-2).
