Time to move on: Plan 2014 works well; IJC needs to focus on other concerns

pAnother assessment conducted on the excessive flooding last year along Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River confirmed what we already know: Plan 2014 was not to blame./ppThe Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Adaptive Management Committee, part of the International Joint Commission, released a report Thursday on the results of its investigation into the flooding in the spring and summer of 2017. It concluded that the flooding was the result of record-setting rainfall during those months, not the water management policy adopted earlier that year./pp“This is a special report of the International Joint Commission’s Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Adaptive Management Committee covering the hydroclimate, flows and water level conditions, as well as their impacts on multiple interests, experienced in 2017 throughout the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River system.
