Watertown woman convicted of assaulting Border Patrol agent

pALBANY — Catherine M. Melhuish, 34, Watertown, was found guilty by a jury in federal court of a federal officer after a four-day trial./ppMs. Melhuish, who is a citizen of Canada and has permanent residency status in the United States, was walking on State Route 37 near the Canadian Border around 1 a.m. on Sept. 18, 2017. /ppThe St. Lawrence County Sheriff contacted Border Patrol, who stopped Ms. Melhuish and asked for her identification.
