State investigating Salina day care center where 2 employees accused of mistreating kids

Salina, N.Y. — The Office of Child and Family Services is investigating suspected abuse at a Salina day care that led to the arrest of two workers.

The two employees accused of mistreating children at Shining Stars Daycare have been fired, according to Stella Penizotto, owner of the Shining Stars Day Care company. The OCFS is investigating each incident of mistreatment and complaint made against the day care, Karen Male, a spokesperson for the state, said.
